Not only is Nippers a fun way for children aged 5 to 13 to enjoy the beach in a safe environment, it also offers children an educational pathway through the Junior Development Program. This program is designed to ensure children have fun at the beach while participating in lessons that will pathway them to becoming a fully rounded participant in lifesaving, community spirit and sport – we like to call it ‘Serious Fun’.
The juniors of today are the future of surf life saving and that is not lost on the thousands of volunteer Age Group Managers, Nipper Coordinators and other support personnel that look after Nippers every summer. Every club in Australia offers a nippers program, all with various styles and sizes.
There will be times where Club representatives will be taking photos of our club activities, including but not limited to nipper activities, fund raising activities, junior activities, our Sunday Sippers bar, patrols and the beach in general. These photos are used for the sole purpose of promoting the Club activities in publications such as Newsletters, web and Facebook pages. Should you NOT wish to be included in any of our photo’s, please notify a club representative.
The main form of communication within the club is our FaceBook page, which is updated regularly. Please ensure you keep up to date with the information presented on this valuable member resource throughout the season. Should at any stage during the Season it becomes necessary to cancel Nippers activities or close the beach due to poor/dangerous weather conditions, we will notify you via our Facebook page. Members will also receive regular notifications via sms and email.
Club caps, swimmers and clothing are available for sale. Our club colours are green, black and white. Most items are available for sale or ordering each Sunday during the Nipper season. Please contact our club for further information. PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID restrictions, the trying on of clothing to ensure correct sizing is currently not prohibited.
